We're looking for someone with +3 years experience with corporate law to assist the executive team with legal tasks and projects. Plytix is a fast-growing tech startup with legal entities in the USA, Spain, and Denmark, and with legal representation in all the just-mentioned countries. Our new in-house legal counsel will be reporting directly to the CEO, currently located in Malaga, Spain, and while we have a flexible remote work policy it would be ideal—but not crucial—for the candidate to be located in Malaga too.
What is Plytix?
This is where you’d typically see a long paragraph of boring text that no one reads, peppered with corporate buzzwords that don’t mean anything. But Plytix is no typical company so we’ll spare you that. Instead, watch this video, and if you like what you see, keep scrolling.
What’s the opportunity?
This is your opportunity to join the only company to ever win Best Place to Work in Spain 2023 and be the sole responsible for our in-house legal department. This means that you will be part of establishing our legal processes and procedures, together with the CEO. It also means that you’ll be responsible for defining what legal tasks Plytix will handle in-house going forward, and what tasks we will continue to outsource to our external lawyers.
Last but not least, this is an opportunity to work with international legal tasks across various different borders, but predominantly centered on the United States, Spain, and Denmark—in that order.
What will you be doing?
While it is impossible at this point to foresee and list all the different tasks you’ll encounter in this role, here's a list of recurring tasks and responsibilities that most certainly will land on your desk:
If the list above seems overwhelming, please rest assured that you will inherit a fairly organized setup with well-documented processes, so no need to panic!
After 1 month:
You’ll know what multichannel commerce is and how PIM plays a critical part of any multichannel commerce strategy. You will be able to map the entire Plytix organization and will have had 1:1s with amazing people across all teams in the company. You will have concluded your tour of duty in the Customer Success department and fully understand our product as well as our customers and their challenges.
After 3 months:
You’re now taking the lead on our T&Cs and have established processes together with our Product team to make sure that you’re informed of all product updates whenever they’re scheduled. You’re now also the official POC for Sales when they have questions regarding customer contracts and SLAs.
You have already established a close relationship with all the departments that you’ll be working closely with in your day-to-day, including—but not limited to—Sales, Product, HR, and Finance.
6 months in:
You’re now fully ramped up in everything Plytix-related and can comfortably advise founders on strategic matters. At this point you are also starting to be proactive and propose ideas and present opportunities to the CEO and the rest of the executive team.
You have established processes and protocols where necessary and you know exactly where your domain ends and our lawyers’ domain begins. You are now also the official POC for our external legal counsel and you work as the right hand of the CEO for all legal matters.
Who you’ll be working with?
While you will be a one-person army in the legal department for a while, you will also be working closely together with people from the following departments: Sales, Product, HR, and Finance, as well as the executive team.
You will be reporting directly to the CEO and you’ll be part of the Corporate department that includes the HR, Finance, and Legal teams.
